About cookies

A cookie is a small piece of data that a website stores on the visitor's computer or mobile device.
At the PLM portal, we use cookies to enable the technical functioning of this website. In addition, if you consent to it, we use cookies to collect your browsing experience on our website. This enables us to collect anonymous statistics to help us improve our website and services.

Different types of cookies exist:

  • First-party cookies are set by the website you are visiting and only that website can read them. A website might use first-party cookies from an external service to analyse how people use their site.
  • Third-party cookies are set and stored by a different website in a manner that is outside the control of the site you are visiting.
  • Session cookies are temporarily saved in your web browser to enable a website to track your navigation, so you are not treated as a new user every time you go from page to page. They are deleted automatically when you close your browser.

Essential cookies

First party cookies

The PLM portal uses a first-party persistent cookie - cookieConsent - to track the user's consent on the usage of the cookies. This cookie has an expiration date of 365 days from its creation, after which it is automatically deleted from the user's device.


Power Pages cookies

The PLM portal is built on Power Pages, which utilises the cookies below. Except for Dynamics365PortalAnalytics - a first-party persistent cookie with a 90-day expiration date -, all the other Power Pages cookies are first-party session cookies, automatically deleted from the user's device when the web browser is closed.

  • __RequestVerificationToken: protects against cross-site request forgery (CSRF).
  • .AspNet.ApplicationCookie: Used to identify user sessions. A user session starts when a user first visits the site and ends when the session is closed.
  • adxPreviewUnpublishedEntities: Stores preview ON/OFF mode in classic CMS systems for site administrators.
  • adx-notification: Used in basic form actions to store alert messages for display on redirection.
  • ARRAffinity and ARRAffinitySameSite: Automatically added by Azure websites to ensure load balancing across different sites. They do not store personal user information.
  • ASP.NET_SessionId: Maintains a logged-in user's session to avoid repeated sign-ins.
  • ContextLanguageCode: Stores the user's preferred language selection for the duration of their session. Deleted at session end.
  • Dynamics365PortalAnalytics: Collects anonymous usage statistics for analysis and aggregated reporting.
  • isDSTObserved and isDSTSupport: Indicate if the current time is within daylight saving time.
  • timeZoneCode and timezoneoffset: Store time zone data related to the user's local time.
  • .AspNet.ApplicationCookieC1: Manage user authentication sessions for secure access.
  • .AspNet.ApplicationCookieC2: Manage user authentication sessions for secure access.
  • WebPageCaching: This is a newly introduced Power Page cookie. This cookie is dropped for sites where the Content Delivery Network is enabled. This cookie helps the CDN to identify if a page needs to be served from the CDN cache or from a web server.
  • MC1: Improve website speed and ensure the proper delivery of cached content.
  • MS0: Improve website speed and ensure the proper delivery of cached content.
  • cookieConsentTimestamp (Custom): This cookie is used for capturing the timestamp of the consent provided by the user which will be used for making the cookie expire after 365 days.
  • PrivateModeLoginCookie: Identifies internal maker sessions when the site is in private mode. Remains after the site becomes public.
  • OpenIdConnect.nonce.xxxxxx: Associates a client session with an ID token and mitigates replay attacks.
  • AspNet.ExternalCookie: Used for identifying user sessions during external sign-in scenarios.

Azure Application Insights cookies

For web analytics and telemetry, the PLM portal employs Azure Application Insights. This tool uses first-party cookies to collect data about the user's interactions with this website, crucial for compiling aggregated statistics about website usage, contributing to the user's experience enhancement on this website.

Azure Application Insights is designed with privacy in mind, ensuring that data collection complies with applicable laws and regulations. The data collected is anonymised, and no personally identifiable information is captured unless explicitly provided by the user.

Azure Application Insights utilises the cookies below.

  • ai_session tracks a user's session, allowing us to understand interactions within a single visit. This session cookie is automatically deleted from the user's device when the web browser is closed or within approximately 40 minutes of its creation.
  • ai_user identifies unique visitors to the portal by assigning a unique identifier, helping us distinguish between new and returning users. This cookie has an expiration date of 365 days from its creation, after which it is automatically deleted from the user's device.

You have control over the use of cookies on the PLM portal. Upon your first visit, you will be prompted to accept all cookies or only the essential ones. Your preferences can be changed at any time through the portal's cookies settings or your web browser's privacy settings.

  • If you accept essential cookies, only the cookieConsent and the Power Pages cookies are enabled (i.e. the non-essential cookies from the Azure Application Insights are disabled).
  • If you accept all cookies, you enable the Azure Application Insights cookies, in addition to the cookieConsent and the Power Pages cookies.
  • If you do not make a selection and continue to browse the website, only essential cookies are enabled by default. You may decide to withdraw or give your consent on all cookies at any time.
