PMS updated roadmap and key actions for MAHs
The updated Product Management Service (PMS) roadmap for 2025 is now available. This roadmap highlights the key milestones in PMS development and essential actions for both Marketing Authorisation Holders (MAHs) and National Competent Authorities (NCAs). It will be frequently updated as new activities are planned.
date: [27/01/2024]

- Write PMS API Implementation Guide (IG) publication:21 January 2025
- Single updated edit functionality release in the Product user Interface (PUI) for non-Centrally Authorised Products (non-CAPs) MAHs and updated PUI Navigation guide publication (in line with the upcoming ESMP full go live for MAHs reporting): 31 January 2025
- Bulk update edit functionality release in PUI for non-Centrally Authorised Products (non-CAPs) MAHs & updated PUI Navigation guide publication – for MAH users only: Q2 2025
- Application Programming Interface (API) write access for MAHs (following MAHs UAT with vendors): Q2 2025
- From 31 January: Submit structured data for pack sizes, and manufacturers (information required by ESMP) to PMS PUI for all their non-CAPs listed in the “Union list of critical medicines: XEVMPD/PMS entries”. Final deadline: December 2025.
- Q2 2025: optionally submit data carrier ID for non-CAPs using Product UI. This information will be used to connect the PMS Medicinal product with the relevant ePI.
- Ongoing: MAHs can submit pending MRPs / DCPs to XEVMPD if they need to submit a variation using the web-based electronic Application Form (eAF) for a procedure where the product is authorised in the Reference Member State, but the authorisation is under evaluation on the Concern Member State(s).
- Ongoing: Submit pack sizes in XEVMPD following Chapter 3.II instructions in order to support the ESMP project that will require information at pack size level for products under the ULCM.
- Ongoing: Verify that data submitted to XEVMPD is correctly displayed in PMS – for both CAPs and non-CAPs (either through the PUI or the PMS API) – to make sure the data submitted to XEVMPD is correctly migrated into PMS.
What should you do in case of any discrepancies or doubts about the data displayed? First, check Chapter 7 and Chapter 9 of the EU IDMP Implementation Guide (IG) and the PMS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Document, while in case of additional questions MAHs should open the appropriate EMA Service Desk Ticket by following the instructions in the “Support” section of the PUI navigation guide.
